Corri Fetman has taken on many roles in her illustrious career. To some, she is known as one of Chicago’s most well-known attorneys. To others, as Playboy magazine’s popular columnist, the “Lawyer of Love,” and to many more, as the mastermind behind the internationally-recognized billboard campaign, “Life’s Short. Get a Divorce”.

Growing up in an abnormal home environment instilled in Corri intense determination and valuable survival skills at a very young age. Raised by two strong, immigrant grandmothers who imbued her with the will to be independent, she was taught to grow up fast and focus on her academics and after-school jobs – from working in a bakery, bank, grocery store to a lumberyard — to ensure a clear path toward a college and law school scholarships.

When Fetman was presented with the privilege of attending college at DePaul University, she knew it was just the beginning of another challenge she would have to conquer. Even while working through college to pay off excessive student loans and expenses, she still managed to earn the grades necessary to be accepted to one of the top law schools.

Despite working full-time during law school, Corri graduated with top honors from DePaul College of Law as a member of the highly-regarded DePaul Law Review. After that, Corri began working as a litigator for BigLaw and juggling a stint as Appellate Law Clerk under renowned and honorable Justice Michael McCuskey. During this time, she gained invaluable experience in transactional law, labor and employment law, intellectual property law, municipal law, school law, construction law, and litigation, earning the chance to second chair numerous trials and argue before the Appellate Court just months after being admitted to the bar.

After working for a prominent firm practicing securities fraud and sophisticated class action work, Fetman was soon approached by a divorce firm. She quickly found out that this was the work she loved most. It entailed all the different areas of the law she had experienced in previous jobs, allowed for litigation practice, and engaged transactional work simultaneously – it was the ultimate challenge.

With several years of solid legal experience under her belt in various fields, Corri decided it was time to open her own law firm, Corri Fetman & Associates, Ltd.. The practice, which focuses not only on divorce law but transactional, employment, and corporate law, as well, was formed in Corri’s then kitchen and grew exponentially in the following years through tireless hours of hard work and networking.

Her most notable success in making her mark in the traditionally uptight world of legal marketing came in the form of an edgy advertisement campaign, “Life’s Short. Get a Divorce”, which would bring more notoriety to her law firm than anyone could have ever anticipated. The local marketing billboard went viral and even international only after one week of exposure in Chicago.

The invaluable media attention garnered by the campaign from spots on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, CNN, The Sean Hannity Show, Inside Edition, and Good Morning America, and international exposure with prospective clients who identified with her message – take back your life by taking back your happiness.

And then came the most unexpected call of all… Playboy. Noticing the controversial ad campaign through international media, the big shots at Playboy took an interest in Corri. On the heels of her editorial debut, Playboy offered Corri the position of a regular advice columnist who could offer male readers professional guidance on sex, love, and the law in a weekly piece called the “Lawyer of Love” (aka the “Love Lawyer”), which became a widely read and extremely popular phenomenon. Since then, Corri has grown her media presence to a level very few achieve in the legal profession. She regularly appeared on a hip-hop rap radio show in Florida for 12 years as a vivacious legal consultant. Corri has also become a notable personality by appearing on Good Morning America, MSNBC, ABC, WGN, FOX, and numerous radio shows over the years, analyzing celebrity cases on-air and giving legal commentary on trending topics in the news.

Most importantly, anyone who knows Corri knows that Corri’s first priority is managing her boutique law firm, Corri Fetman & Associates, Ltd.. Corri is an advocate first and foremost and works industriously to ensure that her clients feel validated and heard during a time in their lives when they need a responsive, compassionate, and strategic champion. Corri believes that preparation, tenacity, strategy, and hard work are the keys to success in any facet of life, including the law. There is no such thing as over-preparation. In fact, Corri believes that clever strategy always always wins cases. There is no substitute.

Corri Fetman & Associates, Ltd. focuses on a multitude of legal areas including, but not limited to, business contracts, corporate law, civil unions, child custody, parentage, partition matters, family law, divorce, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, privacy and cybersecurity, post-decree family law matters and employment and labor law cases.
